Pianomation Maintenance
By Wayne Johnston

[ In Digest 971119 Andy Taylor asked about a dry lubricant. ]

Andy, My name is Wayne Johnston and I'm the Pianomation Technician in
the San Diego area. In answer to your question about some kind of
lubricant to use on the components of the [solenoid piano] system;
don't! The plungers are coated with Teflon and they should never need
lubricating.

I did a lot of research before I decided to work with the Pianomation
Systems and in my opinion, it is the best. If you had a PianoDisc
System I would recommend a lubricant because the plungers are bare
metal and have a tendency to rust inside the chamber.

Hope I was of some help!

Wayne Johnston
