I checked the web site and I could come up with no information on the
lives of the editors of this group. I would like to know how they
formed the group, what their other interests are, and what restorations
they have done. I'd also like to know what instruments they have,
along with how old they are and what their full-time occupations are.
I hope this isn't being too intrusive, but inquiring minds would like
to know!

[ Editor's note:
[
[ When we have time Jody and I will write "A Visit to MMD", as though
[ we were showing a guest our working areas. I'm 58, and awaiting the
[ first grand-child. Jody is around 46, I think, and he has two
[ youngsters at home. We both own pianos and love piano music, and
[ also a wide variety of recorded music.
[
[ Jody is a computer systems engineer and I'm an electronic systems
[ designer. For fun, Jody "writes computer code in his sleep", while
[ I dream of music arrangements. We're not piano techs, but we do
[ perform our own home and auto maintenance, and a lot of piano and
[ computer hardware construction for experiments relating to creating
[ and transcribing and emulating mechanical music. We wisely hire
[ piano techs to do the serious piano work!
[
[ Mechanical Music Digest was launched by Jody on 17 April 1995, on
[ suggestion of Terry Smythe, who provided the original list of names
[ and e-mail addresses. The first Digest was sent to 51 people; now
[ we have over 600 subscribers! Jody is publisher, subscriptions
[ manager, publication manager (he gets each Digest to you in spite
[ of Internet problems), and chief writer for the MMD contributions
[ campaigns! I'm content doing most of the daily editing, and guiding
[ research for feature articles.
