This was a thread a good year or so ago. The QRS roll is the JLC
updated version, with swinging rhythms. The Connorized roll is
straight rhythm.
I recut the Connorized Roll of "Maple Leaf Rag" a few years ago, and
coupled it another Joplin-played Connorized rag roll (I forget which
one, off the top of my head). I don't have it in stock at the moment,
but if you want it I'll reorder it and can send you a copy. My
"2-fers" (2 rolls on one recut) go for $14 plus shipping. Both were
copied directly from the original Connorized rolls, so I can swear to
their authenticity.
I also reissued the other hand-played Joplin roll of Maple Leaf Rag, on
Metro-Style or Uni-record or whichever variation that was (I sure sound
knowledgeable, don't I?!!) which is also good but a bit quirkier. If
you like historic recuts, that's my specialty. (Not that I'm the only
one in that respect, but I love obscure composer-played rags and have
recut dozens of them). Email or call me (847-548-6416) for a list of
rolls, and I'll snail-mail it to you.
Cheers,
Rob DeLand
