FS: Welte Repro Piano Pneumatic Stack + Parts
By Jack Hardman
The 1925 Hamburg Steinway originally with Welte reproducing piano action
previously advertised here has been sold. The buyer had no interest in
the remaining Welte reproducer components, so they were removed before
sale. It is these Welte parts and the solenoid bank which are now
offered for sale.
The spoolbox, tracker bar and roll transport were removed many years ago
by a former owner and are not available. The piano had been converted
to play from electrical signals applied to a bank of 92 solenoid valves
located above the keyboard. The stack was tubed to the solenoid valves
as though to the tracker bar. Most of the expression mechanism removed
from under the piano remains, and appears to be in tact. The solenoids
could be "played" from a MIDI converter.
The original Welte remote vacuum pump is also missing; vacuum was
supplied by an ancient Electrolux vacuum cleaner which upon request
will be included at no extra charge!
Located near Washington DC. May be inspected at any time. First
reasonable offer will definitely be accepted. This stuff is in the
way and I need the space. Email direct, or call with your questions.
Crating at your expense. Please forward this message to potentially
interested parties.
Marty: Here's the answer to your prayers. If you glue all this stuff
onto a good piano, you will have the perfect bar piano for your hotel.
