Philip Jamison wrote, "Well, the Disklavier is great, but I'll bet it's
over $15,000 new." The Disklavier can be had for a lot less than $15,000.
You have to negotiate for it, but it is well worth it.
I would suggest hiring a real pianist to play in a hotel bar. You know,
a human being. It is depressing to see a Disklavier playing in hotels
and bars. It is usually cycling on the same disk, over and over again.
It is torture for the listener. It might be okay if the hotels and bars
invested in a wide selection of disks, but they seem too cheap to do
that.
A funny story for you. When I was getting ready to purchase my
Disklavier two years go I told my brother-in-law about it. I asked him
what he thought and he said he hated them because he always ran across
them on business trips... grinding out the same disk. ;-)
So, if the bar wants to please its customers, it should hire a player...
My opinions.
