Hi all... At the risk of boring everyone silly I will conclude my
contribution on prices and so on by just reassuring MMDers on my business
style.
I offer not one years guarantee but five. John Tuttle said that he
expects me to still be in business in 12 months time, implying that I
would have to be, if only to be able to honour my guarantees. Perhaps I
should have said "be in profit" rather than "be in business". It is not
my intention to abandon any of my customers, whatever the time scale.
Like all responsible technicians I take pride in my work and do not
expect recalls. Am I being too optimistic? Time will tell!
On the subject of unnecessary calls for assistance, I try to anticipate
these by giving my new customers a "Guide to Playing" which outlines
the important points of player operation, and amongst other things
stresses the need to pump only at a moderate strength in a well-restored
instrument. I also lend them 30 rolls for a month free, give them a
rolls catalog and introduce them to the UK's Player Piano Group.
Customer satisfaction is top of my list of priorities.
Incidentally, I currently have a project to restore and donate players
to Youth Hostels in the UK. Sponsors are welcome!!!!
Yours amidst fragments of a heavily glued Autopiano pneumatic stack....
