I have a database in my computer of all the suppliers that I use in my
player restoration work. Just about all of them only sell to bona fide
piano technicians who have an account with them, such as Schaff Piano
Supply Co. and America Piano Supply Co. The only retail player supply
house that I'm aware of is Player Piano Co. in Wichita Kansas, run by
Darrell Armstrong. And with any supplier, always check the quality of
the material before using in your instrument. A lot of it is
questionable.
If you are just doing your own personal player work, I would recommend
contacting a reputable restorer near you and purchase the material you
need from them. Most restorers keep a good supply of materials on hand.
