New "Ragtime Band Organ" Orchestrion
By Mike Amoroso

I would like to find out if anyone knows anything about a "Ragtime Band
Organ" that I found offered by a catalog company, Hammacher Schlemmer.

It is housed in an oak cabinet (43"w x 23"d x 86"h), contains eight
instruments (43 note calliope, 27 note glockenspiel, bass drums, snare
drums, cymbal, tambourine, triangle, castanets). It is pneumatic and
operates on "O" rolls, and can also be optionally MIDI controlled.
Catalog price is $11,500.

Has anyone heard this instrument? What do they think of it? Who
actually makes it?

Mike Amoroso

[ and what quality goods are they? -- Robbie
