Salvaging Player Pianos
By Damon Atchison

I was shocked to find that player pianos, traded-in at a local piano
shop, were just thrown away because they were to expensive to restore,
and there wasn't a market for a restored one!

I politely called and asked this piano place to give me the player piano
mechanisms and everything that could be salvaged (e.g., ivory), except
the piano, because I have nowhere to put it. I thought of this because
Andy Taylor salvages player piano mechanisms.

We have to stop this waste. The piano shop said that they would give me
the mechanisms for free, including the piano. I think everyone should
check on this in their area and see what they can do.
