Newspaper Marches
By Dan Wilson

Not a march, but I have "The Daily Telegraph Waltz", an 88-note roll of
about 1912 made by Perforated Music Co, London under the Imperial
Linenised label (the "linenised" refers to the leaders, which are
medium green in a non-starched version of drawing linen and very tough).

The Daily Telegraph is a paper I don't read, being a traditional
right-wing paper with comparatively accurate reporting and by far the
most faithful, not to say minutely detailed, treatment of current sex
trials, but I believe it was renamed from the "Morning Post" about
then. There might have been a competition for a signature tune, or
maybe the composer was just trying to cadge attention. It might be
worth writing to them and asking.
