Hello Everyone: Does anyone know of a project to recut Skinner Organ
Rolls for the Aeolian-Hammond Player organ? I would like to join with
anyone that is interested in getting some recut Skinner Rolls. I spoke
to another gentleman last year that was trying to get Aeolian-Hammond
Pipe organ rolls recut, and there is a company in California that is
doing this project.
The tracker bar has 120 holes and 10 holes per inch. The Aeolian _pipe
organ rolls_ have pinned ends, so I took one and wound in a slotted end
flange and tried to play it on my organ, with miserable results. The
holes are spaced the same as the Hammond, but the sounds are not
compatible.
Since the perforator is set up for the correct hole spacing, it should be
easy to copy the Skinner rolls for my type of organ. Please e-mail me if
interested in a joint project to recut these rolls.
