I just received forwarded to me this late notice of a no-buyer's-premium
auction by Cilpeper Auction Center (540-825-9045; fax 540-825-7040) of
everything collector/packrat Jim Wells of Fairfax, VA (703-560-8767),
doesn't want to take with him when he moves, including antiques,
glassware, china, household items, arcade items, automotive (Model A,
early Ford V-8, etc.) parts, toys, trains, juke boxes, nickelodeons,
tools, advertising items, player pianos, architectural items in the house
(staircase, railings, cabinets, doors, plumbing fixtures, appliances,
flooring), etc.
Of special interest to MMD'ers: piano benches, Wilcox & White pump organ,
spinet player piano, Hiawatha Victrola, Rockola 200 hi-fi juke box,
Wurlitzer model 600 juke box, ca. 1912 Link nickelodeon, Solovox, Link
silent movie player piano, various arcade pieces, Seeburg nickelodeon
with xylophone, "ten-play 78 J. P. Seeburg nickelodeon" (Whazzat?), 1903
Edison cylinder player, small Swiss music box #1154, 100's of player
piano rolls, record cylinders, 1800's embalming table, 27" Regina music
discs.
More being unpacked daily. Outbuildings are still being unpacked plus
attic packed with collectibles from years gone by. The flier I received
lists a couple of hundred items. If you collect ANYTHING and you can get
there by Saturday, September 13, at 10:00 a.m., you should ask the
auction house to fax you the list today. Sorry for the late notice, but
I just got it here in Rochester from my Maryland address.
