Before I was taken seriously ill I promised the MMD group our catalogue
of thousands of sheet music (1835-1955) etc. and some pages of theatre
organ recordings. The task in compiling this is almost just about
finished. As I was hospitalized, some friends continued listing and
data basing this catalogue. The group is called "The Backroom Piano",
and we have to charge a small fee ($6.00) deductible from any purchase
etc. Yes, there are a nice group of E. T. Paull, Paul Rubens and others
in there. The address for the catalogue is Backroom Piano, Post Office
Box 1, Castleton, New York 12033-0001.
The data base now is in Microsoft Works format, and is off to the printer
this week. There will only be the original fee for the catalogue, and
shipping of sheet music (fee) would only apply to the first sheet of
music with the rest of your order having no handling fee or such. As it
is running close to fifty pages now, I want to mention that we will be
adding Edison Cylinders, and also an audio tape piano service for those
who only frame some of these gems.
If anyone wants a restoration of their own sheets, this service is also
added somewhat in the vein of restoration of older movie posters. The
details on this are in the catalogue. I would ask that you just drop
your requests on the Backroom Piano, registered in the State of New York
which will require about 8% tax, (also registered in the County Sales
Office), and Uncle Sam. Unfortunately, until we get the music ON a
web site, we will not be able to accept credit cards immediately, but
cash, check, money order, postal money orders, foreign exchange
protocols, etc., are acceptable. In many cases, there is only ONE title
available of some songs. Professional repair may have already been done
on some of the music ,especially to eliminate those awful yellow scotch
tape repairs. Referring to copyrights, we cannot accept returns on any
sheets. The addendum for Edison Cylinders, Edison reproducing heads,
horns, etc. will follow within a month, we hope. There is an attractive
list of USED theatre organ vinyls attached to the first major catalogue.
We do run a Wildcat BBS when our lines are open, and will maintain this
service, we hope, in addition to any notes to search titles or even
words in context of the songs you may be interested in. I will be aided
in this venture (which was mentioned here some while back) by some dear
friends,...and if you are interested, we will see you get the best. (or
what is left of the best) as soon as possible.
Thanks again. Bill
My thanks to Jody and Robbie for taking these notices. I just wanted
this group to be aware of these things, even internationally, at first.
