Brass Escutcheons
By D. L. Bullock

"Escutcheons? What are they?"

Most people ask me that when I mention them.

I want a way to make brass escutcheons to replace the ones found on
player piano "play-reroll" keyslip levers. You know those things put
on by escutcheon pins? Now you know what I mean. These fairly commonly
made items in the 1920's are not found today.

I have been to several aluminum sign and badge makers, and they haven't
a clue how the standard player piano control labels were made, and what's
more they don't know how the black paint got down into the lowest part
between the raised brass letters.

I have more and more need to replace and make new designs of such items.
Does anyone know how to make these brass escutcheons?
