I have a Melville Clark 58n pushup with clockwork roll drive and wooden
tracker bar that I am unlikely to get around to restoring. Is anybody
interested in buying it? It is in good unrestored condition except for a
very clumsy but easily fixed minor repair to one of the treadle pushrods.
There are a few chips in the teeth of the main drive gear but the motor
seems to run well and smoothly.
As far as I can tell the player is complete except for the bottom panel
at the rear of the case, which is missing. The clockwork winding crank
is present as are the two tiny cranks for raising and lowering the
machine. It has about twenty rolls with it, in states varying from
reasonable to decrepit.
The pushup weighs 140 pounds (63.5 kg), is 37.4" wide (95 cm), 17.3" deep
(44 cm) and 40.5" high (103 cm). As I'm not sure of its value, I'm not
putting a price on it at present, but I have got a quote for air-
freighting it door to door from Hobart to San Francisco. This is Aus
$610 (approx. US $450) but does not include packing. Air freight further
east would be more. Any offers?
