What is the "MMD-emulation" listserver and how does one get to it?

[ Editor's Note:
[
[ In addition to the moderated daily digest sent to every MMD
[ subscriber, there are several unmoderated mailing lists
[ managed by the MMD editors. Each of these mailing lists
[ covers a "niche topic". Each mailing list is unmoderated and
[ 'undigestified'. What this means is each message received is
[ immediately forwarded to all of the participants of that list.
[ These lists are intended to allow discussion of niche topics
[ with almost interactive response time. The participants on
[ the list are expected to exercise good 'netiquete', including
[ not accidentally quoting huge pieces of text.
[
[ We've had good luck with these side discussions and would
[ consider starting up more of them. The 3 current unmoderated
[ MMD list servers are:
[
[ MMD-emulation -- for MMD subscribers interested in computer models
[ of reproducing pianos. Most members are interested in writing
[ software emulators to process reproducing roll data into MIDI files
[ for Disklavier, or into another reproducing piano format.
[
[ MMD-cs Computer Support -- For MMD subscribers interested in getting
[ and sharing help with their computer. Most of the members are Linux
[ users, but membership and questions are not limited to Linux (i.e.
[ sound cards, modems, ISPs, browser configuration, etc., would be the
[ normal topics.
[
[ MMD-Web-Authors -- MMD members who have or are contemplating having
[ their own Web site can discuss Web publishing issues here. Topics
[ include Web authoring tools, HTML debugging, server and host ISP
[ selection, preparation of audio and MIDI files for web pages, etc.
[
[ Anyone who feels that they want to join one of these can send
[ a message to "rollreq@foxtail.com" with the words "Subscribe xxxx"
[ in the subject line, where "xxxx" is the name of the group.
[ Since this is all handled manually, please don't subscribe unless
[ you think you have a serious interest in the group.
[
[ Robbie and will take suggestions for other list server topics
[ seriously if you have a suggestion for a new topic. Please
[ direct all such suggestions to "rollreq@foxtail.com".
