Reading the report of a first-timer on the Sandusky band organ rally made
me regret all over again that I couldn't be there. The enthusiasm of the
writer was palpable and I know many of the organs and people mentioned --
for example David Wasson's chromatic-scale "Trudy" -- made all the finer-
sounding by Dave's talent in arranging neat jazz. I have a cassette of
the Steenput, though never yet heard it in person.
Was Marty and Elise Roenigk's wonderful Richter there? That, to me, is
one of the finer European organs. There is a tape of it available from
Bill Black (and probably also from Marty), but unfortunately only the one
tape, as far as I know.
The rally was so close to Cedar Point too. Ah me ... Can't have
everything, I guess. Where is next year's rally? I don't have my
journals here with me, so missing a lot of information that I'm used to
having at my fingertips.
