Movie "Old Ironsides" and The Constitution
By Karl Ellison

On Saturday night I went to the outdoor showing of "Old Ironsides", the
1926 Paramount film, which was accompanied by organist Dennis James on an
Allen electronic organ. (Dennis was great; the instrument itself sounded
kind of sick).

This was projected in Charlestown Navy Shipyard in Boston, *right next*
to where "The Constitution" was tied up. I met a few Piporg-l (Pipe
Organ automated mailing list) people, and saw one New England AMICA
member from afar but did not get to say "hi." Real fun!

The Constitution is the oldest commissioned warship in the world.
