Hi Jody, I'm sending a copy of the this letter because it pertains to
the recent question about Overseas Rates and Times. To my knowledge Mr.
Belt has not received his rolls. However, it has only been three days
since the Invoice was generated at QRS.

Hi Michael,
Ouch!! I just got the bill from QRS for your rolls. They better arrive
fast!. I suppose you are already sitting down. When I first looked at the
bill, the first thing I checked was the shipping charge. It looked like
$32.57, then I looked at the total and then at the charge for the rolls.
They didn't add up. Then I looked at the shipping charge again. I misread
it. It is $82.57. Ouch!!!. I can't understand why QRS mislead us into
thinking it would be around $50.00.
I probably wouldn't be so upset if it weren't for the fact that I called
QRS to get another shipping estimate before I passed the information
along to you. And it's a fact that the actual price is almost double the
estimate.
Not that it will change the financial impact to you, but I want you to
know that this information is destined to see hundreds of eyes within the
next two days. (Why?)
Recently, there was a request, in the Mechanical Music Digest, for
information about Overseas Rates and Delivery Times. Since I had the
information from our previous dealing, I passed that information along to
the Digest. I feel certain this new information will be an eye opener.
I know it is for me.
(For those who don't remember, QRS shipped, by surface mail, 12 rolls to
Mr. Belt in Rivonia, Rep. of South Africa. They arrived in 11 weeks,
shipping charge $25.97. In this most recent order, 12 rolls were Air
Mailed, cost $82.57. The estimate from QRS was $45.00)
As before, I will be sending you a separate E-nvoice(r) so that the bank
will release a US Dollar draft note.
Feeling Drained,
John A. Tuttle
