There are old TV cabinets, and then there are *old TV* cabinets.
Apparently, the older TVs in the mahogany-veneered cabinets (the ones
that look like oversized radio cabinets) that were produced in the late
1940s are worth pretty serious money -- one of these old beasts,
unrestored, is worth more than the average unrestored player!
I should know -- one of these old cabinets has taken up residence in my
household. Unfortunately, it was discovered in gutted condition, in the
damp basement, with the bottom 4" of veneer peeling off. Rats!
Of course, under these circumstances, I've no reservations at all about
turfing out the stereo components and using it to hold my growing rolls
collection. (It even has a proper plywood back already!)

Key. He's done a magnificent job in re-covering my ex-ivories, with only
a week and a half of 'downtime', with international (trans-border)
shipping each way!!
