FS: Duo-Art Rolls
By Ian Mavor, forwarded by Terry Smythe

A friend of mine who is not on the MMD list, had at one time a couple of
reproducing pianos and has since disposed of them. He now has a large
collection of Duo-Art rolls available for sale. He does not have a web
site, so I have agreed to post his tune list on my personal home page.
It may be accessed directly, for download, through your favorite browser
sent to:

    http://www.winnipeg.freenet.mb.ca/~smythe/duoart.zip

Below is the message he sent me.

 Subject: DUO-ART ROLLS

For Sale: Large collection of Duo-Art rolls. Approximately 800 separate
titles. Most of these rolls are recuts from Frank Adams, Powell,
Playrite and Ray Siou. Lots of long playing rolls including AMR's An
American in Paris ( 16 minutes on one roll) that fits a standard size
spoolbox. Concertos by Grieg, Saint-Saens and Mendelsohn. Etudes,
Overtures, Symphonies by Beethoven (#5), Tchaikowsky(#5), Mozart(C),
Schubert. Nine Hungarian Rhapsodies. Duo-Art rolls by Feranti & Teicher
(as far as I know the only ones in existence) and several other one of a
kind.

These rolls survived a fire in my home several years ago. About
one-third are smoke damaged and will need new boxes. However, the rolls
themselves are okay. Most of the rolls are recuts. About two-thirds are
large rolls.

Asking price for the entire collection is $5000 US. There is room to
negotiate. I have a printed list for the serious buyer. Send $5.00 for
a copy.

These rolls are only available as a lot. No picking.

These rolls are my private collection left when I sold my Weber Louis XVI
Duo-Art. These are the best I could find in over 15 years of collecting.
Some were made from scratch (Pictures at an Exhibition & Wanderer
Fantasy). Some are 88 note rolls edited and coded for Duo-Art. This is
a unique collection.
