I have a great interest in the robust British Music Hall -- the equivalent
to American Vaudeville. Its history is rich with references to beer.
"Down At The Old Bull And Bush" is "Under The Anheuser Busch" in
disguise -- one is clearly a parody of the other.
"Beer, Beer, Glorious Beer" is a favorite, including lines like
"Fill yourself right up to here!"
And the great Cockney comedian Gus Elen had a hit with " 'Arf A Pint Of
Ale." And there are many more.
[ Wunderbar !!! Which came first, "Busch" or "Bull & Bush"? :-)
