I have some Music Roll History questions I've been puzzling over.
Perhaps someone can help me.
Can anyone provide me with a list of roll brands issued by Standard Music
Roll Co. of New Jersey? Were they related to The Supreme Music Co., also
of NJ? Also, can anyone tell me what manufacturers were bought out or
absorbed by QRS over the years?
Finally, is the following correct?
The Aeolian Co.'s earliest 88-note rolls were simply labeled "88 note" or
"65 Note", with no brand name, with a simple framed design on the label.
Later, they took the name "Universal", with a variety of designs over
the years. Finally, the name was changed to "Mel-O-Dee". From the
beginning Aeolian used metal flanges on their 88-note rolls, as they did
on their Duo-Art rolls.
Thanks in advance for all the help.
