A heartfelt apology to those who responded to my MMD post last week about
a sale of rolls from the collection of the Arlington Historical Society
(in Digest 970630).
Today (Sunday) the Curator and I went through our collection, and the
volume of rolls we decided to sale prevents me from having the sale list
ready by July 7. In fact, it will probably not be ready before the end
of the month. I had not anticipated selling so many!
I can, however, offer the following info on the batch as a whole:
Most are by QRS & Imperial, many are of religious nature including a
number of "Billy Sunday Revival Hymns", and 3 QRS Hymn Medleys. Also a
number of Waltzes, Fox Trots, Ballads, a couple Marches, a few Blues
rolls, and several fairly new QRS pop rolls in the red and tulip boxes.
All but 1 or 2 are in boxes. If the buyer is willing to pay and extra
$1.00, we will get a new box if needed.
We will be conducting this sale via surface mail. The list will be
available via Fax or surface mail. Orders will be taken by mail, in
order of postmark.
*No fax or phone orders, please!*
This would give the faxer or phone caller an unfair advantage over the
mail users.
Sorry for the delay. I have a new understanding and awe of those busy
souls who run the roll auctions I subscribe to. I never realized the
amount of work! Hope I only have to do this _once_!
