A band organ rally, co-sponsored by AMICA and MBSI, will be held during
the Independence Day holiday weekend, July 4-6, 1997, in the city of
Sierra Madre, California (just east of Pasadena). Band organs will be
involved in the Independence Day parade in Sierra Madre, Friday morning,
July 4th.
On Saturday, 5 July, the band organs will play all day at Memorial Park
in the middle of the city, on West Sierra Madre Blvd. at Hermosa Ave.
That evening there will be a barbecue dinner for the participants and
registered guests. A reservation ticket for dinner is required, cost
is $17.
The rally will continue on Sunday, 6 July, 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, at the
Los Angeles County & State Arboretum, 301 N. Baldwin Avenue, Arcadia
91007, just south of Sierra Madre. The TV series, "Fantasy Island",
was filmed at this beautiful location.
Organs performing will include large fairground organs home-built by
David Wasson and Charlie Porter of San Diego; DeCap Dutch Street Organ,
Mike Ames; 49-key Limonaire Fairground organ, Frank Nix; Wurlitzer 105
band organ, Bill Blair; Wurlitzer 146 band organ, Jack Conway; and
several monkey organs.

rate is 4 June, but Rayanne told Jody today that they will probably
extend the date, since they don't expect to be sold out on the July 4th
