I was exceptionally impressed by the last issue of the MMD with its
theses from our members on the Violano Virtuoso (the Single and the
Double Mills). The issue was one of the best I've seen, and topped with
the auction prices, it was like frosting on the cake. Keep up the good
work.
I am very surprised that _no one_ on the MMD list has replied to my
request for any information on the development by Story and Clark Piano
Company of the digital (with a real violin and bow and no resin) of their
Virtuoso Violin. (This is what they are calling it). The machine should
run about 9000-13000 as an attachment to any midi setup and will feature
not the resin wheels, but an actual bow across an actual violin.
Has anyone seen this, and also has anyone seen the Presto Digitation
setup of the new Story and Clark line, where the older actions of grand
pianos are simply replaced with a midi-digital-ssl setup. I will grant
that there is going to be a lag time in this violin production. Lag
times seem to part of the piano development and especially in case design
and new MIDI developments.
I do not have my scanner on line here this week, but the new Story and
Clark catalog does have a picture of this Virtuoso Violin, and also its
"new" nickelodeon line. Of course, it might be noted there in the
"nickelodeon" line, ... the machine comes with a "dollar changer", not a
nickel slot. More later on this. Lets here from you on these new
digital developments, and let's here more on the midi-Thereminists of the
world. This is really laying the man in the street out flat, as they are
proclaiming we musicians as being one brick short of a load, when we
talk "Theremins".
