Death of Steve Clarke, UK Noteur
By Phil Benson

Steve Clarke, the well known and talented music arranger and cutter working
with Jean Watts in the UK, died 11 June.

Arriving for work, he parked his Volvo on the hill outside the works gates
to open up. The parking brake failed to hold the car on the slope and it
started to roll downhill. Steve tried to stop the car and was run over,
dying soon afterwards.

Steve was well respected having worked with the late Peter Watts for many
years and , latterly, with Jean Watts, Peter's widow. A talented musician,
skilled at playing the accordion, Steve was able to read a book of
mechanical music by sight, playing it in his mind, and make corrections on
the spot much of the time.

He was probably the most prolific music arranger in the UK, with music for
every scale from 20-note to 98-note.

No details are yet available about funeral arrangements.
