The AMICA, International Convention in Sandusky, Ohio (June 12-15, 1997)
is coming up! Sawmill Creek Resort, where the event is based, is
totally sold out of rooms for attendees. Other hotels in the area
still have rooms, but none in the actual Hotel. With approximately
200 registered, it promises to be an exciting and memorable event.
William Bolcom and Joan Morris, John Arpin and Dwight Thomas will be
the live entertainment plus a hospitality room (open throughout the
Convention from start to finish) with 2 pedal players, a Mason and
Hamlin AMPICO and a Steinway Duo-Art 1913.. Bob Berkman from QRS will
be offering a special push-up Pianola program on Saturday while the
other Tech Sessions are underway. Ampico Coding practices, Duo-Art
restoration Techniques, Ampico Modification Systems and Liz Barnhart's
Annual Cross-Stitch group plus the Pianola Competition. Don't forget
the Mart also, there are 27 vendors signed up already.
