I want to share with Cynthia and the group an outstanding 88n roll composed
and arranged by Eric Bernhoft, one of the few authentic "modern day"
ragtime piano roll arrangers. The roll is entitled _Laclede's Landing_, and
celebrates that famous area's contribution to ragtime. It sounds, like
everything Eric does, absolutely authentic in keeping within the musical
style of the ragtime era, and progresses from what sounds like a "hand
played" arrangement to a "full orchestra" layout. Eric should be on the
"must hire" list for next year's festival there. Perhaps if you write Eric,
he will have a few cassettes of this and the other other rags recorded from
a well restored 88-note player.
