G'day folks,
Here's a quick technique to identify porous pneumatic cloth #before#
you make the mistake of using it and then having to re-do the whole job.
Hold the sheet up close to a light with the rest of the room darkened.
If it looks like a starry night you can expect bad leak problems, but
if there is just a sprinkling of holes it may be worth your while to
mark the areas and avoid using those sections. I have successfully
used the latter method when better cloth was not available.
I recommend using the light test before using any cloth or leather which
needs to be airtight.
I am still hoping to find the local source of the "high quality" Australian
pneumatic cloth someone mentioned here a while back.
