Why would any store gut a player? I question the intelligence of such
people too. However, I do not have the money or the space to rescue
each and every one I hear about. I usually pick up the player system
however. I have a local dealer who has gutted one Knabe Amp "A" grand
and has another he is thinking about doing it to. The only problem is
he wants me to purchase it for $5,000.00. Which I do not have because
I have spent tens of Thousands rescuing other players and keeping them
intact. I now have around 150-200 players that do nothing but eat the
rent money I spend. I would love to sell them but few people want
unrestored players.
I am (not often enough) selling them to people around the country for
$295 plain case, $395 semi art case, $495 art case and $595 tiger oak
case. I pass up 90% of the players that come my way because I simply
cannot afford to buy, move and store all of them. If you or any of the
MMD people want untouched, unrestored players I will sell most of what
I have with the sixth player free. The last time I sold 6 of them they
went to Oregon and cost $125 each for Keyboard Carriage to move them.
As you might imagine I have much more than the sale price in most of
those instruments. I refuse to gut them however. I have had a few that
were so bad I had to dismantle and toss out large parts. It bugs me
greatly to do that but, DO YOU WANT TO BUY THEM? PLEASE?! IF I got
rid of all of them I could replenish within a few months.
