Damon Atchison asked about books on "Organ Building for Dummies".
Two books come to mind.
The Art of Organ-Building
Author: George Ashdown Audsley
Dover Publications
ISBN 0-486-21315-3 and 0-486-21314-5
This book is in two volumes. It was written I believe around the
early 1900's, but is very thorough and informative.
Organ Building for Amateurs
Author: Mark Wicks
Ward, Lock & Co.
ISBN 0-913746-01-0
This book is a victorian era book but contains some interesting
information. It can be ordered from
The Organ Literature Foundation
45 Norfolk Rd.
Braintree, MA 02184-5918
Telephone (617) 848-1388.
I ordered copies of both of these books on the Internet from
www.amazon.com. I have forgotten how much the Wicks book cost but it
wasn't much. Both volumes of the Audsley book cost a total of about
$35, not unreasonable I think.
The Audsley book in particular covers pipe building very thoroughly.
