Gulbransen Registering Piano
By Rob DeLand

I'm certainly no Gulbransen expert, but to get the ball rolling I'll
mention that Gulbransen made some Recordo rolls as documented in Ginny
Billings' Recordo discography (where have I heard that name before? ;-)
which leads me to speculate that the fanciest automatically-played
Gulbransen piano was a Recordo, not an Ampico or Duo-Art or Welte (or
Artrio-Angelus or ... ).

I hope that helps. Does anyone out there have an actual Gulbransen
Recordo piano? Is that what they meant when they said Gulbransen
Registering Piano, or is that just a fancy name for some trademarked/
patented aspect of their everyday footpumper player piano?
