Pouch Sealing-Silicone Rubber
By Phil Dayson

I apologize for feeding yet another letter on the subject of pouch
sealing with Silicone Rubber. I only tried the rubber a few days ago and
it worked so well I was enthusiastic to get out some information. I have
done a little more test work and it appears that ordinary clear
silicone sealant diluted 50-50 with toluol works as well if not better
than the Dow 734. Although I used a GE silicone I have no reason to
think that a Dow silicone would not be equivalent. After dilution the
sealant is still quite thick. Just rub it in with a cloth then wipe away
the excess until the pouch appears dry.
