Not quite right, Robbie. Larsen is the original pianist. He (as Jelly
Roll the pianist) and Vernel Bagneris (Jelly Roll the story-teller,
singer, & dancer) created the show at least 5 years ago. Bagneris &
Larsen had previously created such musicals as "One Mo' Time,". I first
saw the show a few years ago when it was in cabaret at Michael's Pub, in
New York. Then it moved to off-Broadway and Larsen invited me to see it
again (now considerably changed). If you had seen the Jelly Roll extrava-
ganza on Broadway with Gregory Hines, see this one now and learn what
Jelly and his music were *really* about.

[ I agree, Ed, the show "Jelly's Last Jam", with Gregory Hines, was mostly
[ tuneful fantasy; I want to see Asaro and Taylor now. Thanks for the
[ correct history. -- Robbie
