Let's see, there's the Music Box International museum in Norfolk(?)
Connecticut. There's the Roenigk's in East Hampton, Conn, if you can
wrangle an invite. (Marty? And by the way, I want to come, too! =)
There's Danilo Konvalinka's Musical Wonder House Music Box Museum in
Wiscasset, Maine, which I reviewed some time ago; it has several
_hundred_ music boxes and a considerable tour. Lower-level tours are
$10, full house tours (worth it) are $30, but you need an appointment.
And in between Marty and Danilo is yours truly, in Litchfield, NH, but my
collection is rather pitifully small, especially compared to Marty's and
Danilo's (but then again, I think Marty and Danilo own most of the music
boxes in the world between them. ;)
At the moment, I have just an unrestored 11" cylinder of unknown make,
a restored Ducomunn Girard drum-and-bell box, an unrestored (but nice) 22
1/2" disk Kalliope, and a run-of-the mill 15" Regina disk. But, you're
welcome to stop for tea and music on the way...
regards,
Larry Smith
