Vestal Press Status
By Bob Conant
Dear folks,
I just got off the phone with Harvey Roehl. He tells me that the entire assets of the Vestal Press Publishing Co. have been sold including the name. Over the last few days 2 1/2 semi trailers were loaded and delivered to Lanham, Maryland. The assets were sold to the National Book Network. This company has been in business about 10 years and has several hundred employees. They have bought up about 10 small specialty book publishers where they thought they could increase the business in that specialty market. Regarding the books formerly published and sold by the Vestal Press, most will continue to be available through the new company. The Reblitz books on piano and player repairs are still available as is the new book on reed organs by Fritz Gellerman. Perhaps the best news is that with more capital behind them, they plan to very quickly get the Encyclopedia of Automatic Instruments back into print. Anyone interested in information or in purchasing books formerly sold by the Vestal Press can call the customer service department of The National Book Network on (800) 462-6420. I am offering this information with Harvey Roehl's permission. Hopefully this will help list members who have been trying to reach them or to purchase their products.
