Links to Musica Mecanica

My goodness! When I asked Jody and Robbie if it was possible to establish a better link from the MMD Web site to my Musica Mecanica Site, and especially to the Associations and Museum listings, I didn't expect the wonderful comments they added to these links. I certainly blushed ... And that is sure the best gift I could have for my birthday! So thank you very much, Jody and Robbie.
Once again I insist that, although I collect the information, write the texts and choose the pictures, a tremendous work is also done by Olivier Delaroziere, the Web specialist of the Musee des Arts et Metiers in Paris. He probably spends much more time than reasonable on formatting these pages. And many other people (I mention some of them in the credits) help me building there pages with their collaboration or remarks. Thanks, Robbie, for the music, thanks Christine for the German translations, thanks, Beatrice Robertson, Angelo Rulli, Walter Tenten, Hauke Marxsen, Joyce Brite, and many others.
I strongly believe in cooperation, not in competition (although a pinch of competition obliges us to go forward!), so I am happy if this site may be a useful source of information for everyone.
For those who have access only to the e-mail and not to the web, and want to know the address of an association or of a specific museum, I may try and answer their request (as long as I do not receive too many of them!).
Of course, I try to update as frequently as possible the information. There is sometimes discrepancies between the English, French and German versions: the main reason is that the computers of the Musee des Arts et Metiers are not always immediately available to transfer every change on the web. And of course, there are certainly some errors and mistakes, so please e-mail me at: rouille@cnam.fr
A word now about the posting on the MMD web site, a few days ago, of the listings of events and museums from Fair Organ Preservation Society (FOPS): I realized very quickly that we are not in competition, but are complementary. The FOPS is a large and long established association, whereas I am on my own, although a member of many associations (including the FOPS). The listing of future events of the FOPS is very impressive, the listing of traveling rides with organs (mostly in England) shows the importance of rallies in that country, and there are of course in the FOPS listing some museums I didn't know about, same as I mention many museums which are not in the FOPS listing (especially for France, USA and Japan).
I am also giving, always in 3 languages, some informations which are not in the FOPS listing, about associations throughout the world, instruments, etc. I try to update the incoming informations as soon as possible, which is one of the great qualities - and demands - of the Web. (Don't forget to reload the pages, if you want to get the updated information.) The next step in Musica Mecanica will probably be a more simple presentation of the pages.
