Replicating Roll Labels
By Ken Vinen
Re Dean Randall's search for Ampico labels. Not too long back, Bill Jelen, trading as Bam-Bam Player Rolls, offered a computer file called Roll Label Clipart.
It claimed to have over seventy five different labels scanned into it, where you could "fill in the blanks" as it were to make good quality replacement labels. I sent for this programme and was a bit let down when there were only a couple of Ampico choices. I talked to Bill and he explained he just could not find the originals to scan, so I searched out all I had and provided Bill with quality photo copies of twenty five all different Ampico Labels. Bill then put out a second Roll Label Clipart project on its own computer file just for Ampico rolls. I am sure this is what you are looking for.
Just one slight catch. I remember reading that Bill has stopped doing Bam-Bam rolls and has moved from the Akron Ohio address I have. There was an announcement in the AMICA Bulletin, but I don't have time right at this moment to do that research. Perhaps our Editor might have this info and could drop it in.
The cost of these files was hardly enough to cover Bills materials. If he is not offering this any longer, or does not have any "Old Stock", I will do share ware with you, but if these files are still available through Bill, it is only fair that you purchase from him. You will for sure find the early Ampico styles you are looking for in this file.
Good luck, Ken Vinen
