PianoDisc Mission
By Meta Brown
Phil, thanks for the "inside scoop" on the PianoDisc facility. I am pleased to hear that no one tried to convert anyone at the factory, but I would also like to know whether the company is involved in any religion-related discriminatory practices or has political involvements that encourage restriction of religious freedom of the general public. Sometimes these things are subtle: I don't know if I could tell by visiting a Coor's plant that they had a history of anti-gay discrimination, for example.
The "Asian work-force" that concerned me is the one which is actually in Asia: PianoDisc has recently told us that their Knabes are made in Korea, and last year a dealer told me that the PianoDisc pianos he was selling were made by Young Chang, (made in China?). Granted, many businesses produce goods in Asia, but PianoDisc is the only one who has handed me a brochure tooting about its service to Christ.

[ Editors note: [ [ Since this topic is noew departing from mechanical music we won't [ pursue it further in the Digest, but I invite you to carry on your [ correspondence externally if you wish. Off-shore production of [ pianos, etc., sold in other countries _is_ of interest, though, [ so tell us if something new develops. Thanks for writing. [ [ Robbie
