Solenoid Reliability

Well John, like with anything mechanical, there are failures. Considering what is all involved with the computerized players of the day, I'd say they are virtually trouble free. I've had to make a few repairs here and there, but for the most part, the repairs have been very minor and not recurring. I've replaced more individual solenoids than anything, but then there are 80 or more per unit, and I've installed around 100 units over the past 5 years.
Anything electronic will most likely suffer "infantile mortality" during the first year of operation. After that, if it hasn't failed, the odds are pretty strong that it won't fail. The usual periodic service is required.
