Recovering Drum Heads
By Philip Jamison

I believe the Remo brand synthetic skin drum heads are best. They look real and are unaffected by humidity, thus needing little "tuning". I tried to get them directly from Remo, but you need to be a dealer. Mike Kitner (Carlisle, PA), an A-1 band-organ restorer, gets his drum heads from this firm. They will do any size. You might order through him.

Another guy I know who does drum heads is Bill's Drum Shop, 233-F Stokes Street, Huntsville, AL 35805, (205)533-3786. He does repairs, recovering, raw shells & hoops. Just send him what you have and he'll restore it.
