Player Piano Company
By Matthew Caulfield
Durrell Armstrong's Player Piano Company has all the characteristics, both good and bad, of an old-fashioned business run by a man who loves the work that pays him his living. PPC's phone man clearly feels that time is money and that both the company and the customer are well served by efficient and precise order-taking. Personally I find that attitude a refeshing change from the couldn't-care-less pseudo-intimacy required of its service personnel by many other companies.
