Introduction and Gem Roller Organ
By Skip Hunt
Hello all you interesting people from coast to coast and around the globe; I am now the proud owner of "The Gem Roller Organ" ??? Does this mean this was the only one made? This Gem has been in the family since late 1890- early 1900 and I would like to know more about it. I have the original shipping box, $3.50 COD, but no return address. Any history or info would be helpful. I am thinking about opening a museum with my vast collection, I also have a player piano, so I must have something to tell about "THE GEM" when visitors call. I need help.

[ Welcome to the Digest, Skip, and I hope you will tell us about your [ collection. There was mention here several months ago about the [ little roller organs and how they became popular in Japan! Another [ popular name was the McTammany Organette (I hope I spelled that [ right!). Can someone advise Skip where to begin? -- Robbie |
