Re: Rolls by Gitta Gradova
By Terry Smythe

In mid-1983, a Past International President of AMICA, Robert M. Taylor, of Philadelphia, had a fine opportunity to spend an afternoon with Gitta Gradova in Chicago. From that meeting, she became an Honorary Member of AMICA until her passing two years later. The substance of that meeting formed the basis of an article about her, by Robert, which was published in the July 1983 issue of the AMICA Bulletin.

I do not have any of her rolls in my Duo-Art collection, but I would be pleased to provide you with a photocopy of that article about your mother.

As Robert took a strong interest in her contribution to this unique slice of musical heritage, it is possible he may have acquired a few of her rolls, or may possibly know where copies may be found. You can contact him at:

   Robert M. Taylor,
   3004 - 1326 Spruce Street
   Philadelphia, PA 19107
   tel (215) 735-2662

Regards, Terry Smythe
