Introduction
By Roy Ulrich
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to this group! I'm just getting acquainted with MMD and really like what I see: a lot of helpful people with like interests.
My name is Roy Ulrich. I own Pike Piano, Inc., located north of Virginia, Minnesota on the edge of the Superior National Forest, Mesabi Iron Range, and The Boundary Waters Canoe Area. I tune and restore pianos, and have restored or repaired a few players and reed organs, as well as a table-top barrel organ (those are pretty few and far-between up here in the woods). I am currently teaching a night class on furniture refinishing and repair through the Vermillion Community College in Ely, Minnesota.
I collect antique instruments when I can find them and I recently started playing a banjo. I own three players and am working on four others for customers, as well as three square grands, two baby grands, and a Victor- ian upright. I can't imagine having a better job; I'm sure many of you will agree that working for yourself, and doing that which is more hobby than labor, is unsurpassed by other careers. I'm looking forward to chatting with you, and thanks for all the past, present and future technical information.

[ In fact, I can say that yours is the best site I've found [ for me, personally, since I got on-line a year ago!" [ [ Thanks, Roy, for the compliments which go straight to the authors [ of the Digest: our members ! [ [ Jody Kravitz, Editor/Publisher [ Robbie Rhodes, Relief Editor |
