Ampico Tracker Bar Tubing
By Terry Smythe

Within this recent discussion about removal of tracker bar tubing, I wonder if some of our more knowledgeable rebuilders might consider sharing their techniques for removing lead tubing from an Ampico drawer and then replacing it with rubber tubing. I've done it a couple of times, and removal is pretty straight forward, but replacement of rubber tubing is a huge aggravation.

I've never been able to figure out how to get the rubber tubing to lay out in nice neat loops following the curve of the old metal tubing. The only way I could manage was to lay down some double-sided sticky tape and leave it there. I was not pleased with the process and have always wondered how the experts do it. There has to be a better method.

Regards,

Terry Smythe
