Hi Margie,
I live in Palo Alto with my wife, two cats, two player pianos and just recently, a player organ. I would recommend two people for you to contact. For player action service I would recommend Rick Buswha (I have trouble with the pronunciation too. It's something like Boozz-Wha). He works in the service center at Carnes Piano in Town & Country Village. But I have heard thru the grapevine that the service center is being closed. True? I don't know. Try this number for the service shop - 415 328-6439 and ask for Rick. For tuning and piano service, I would highly recommend Fanke Martin (pronounced Frank-a. It's German). He apprenticed at, and worked for Steinway for many years. He has done magic with my piano. He also works with Rick so he is very understanding about players. Try 408 847-0615 to reach Franke. Please don't let the other guy gut your piano.
I have other phone numbers for both Rick and Franke. If you have problems contacting them you are welcome to contact me and we can work together to get your piano fixed. I am pretty sure you won't have any problems though.
Good Luck
Walt Carroll
