Selling a Player Piano
By Michael Concordia
Hi Jody, besides the MMD, do you know of any other web sights that might be a good place to advertise a player piano for sale? (I have already posted it in MMD). I have gotten zilch response from classifieds in my local newspaper here in West Palm Beach, FL and I believe my asking price is reasonable ($2,000) for a mostly restored player (still has original strings, but stays in tune and sounds nice). I did electrify it thinking this would make it more salable but it can be foot pumped with ease as well. As classified ads are quite expensive, I thought it might be worth posting in an appropriate classified forum. A web search turned up only some antique pages but nothing that looked to specialize in mech. instruments. I would welcome any suggestions on other ways to market it.
[ Editor's Note: [ [ If you know how, you should post to three USENET Newsgroups: [ [ rec.music.makers.marketplace [ and [ rec.antiques.marketplace [ and [ fl.forsale [ [ Your Internet Service Provider can provide you with information [ on how to do this if you do not know already. [ [ Beyond that, you could take out a classified ad in either the [ AMICA or MBSI bulletin. It may not be too late to get in for [ the December issue. [ [ Jody
