TIGHT Leather Nuts
By Bob Hobbs

About 9 months after rebuilding and installing a DuoArt stack in our Stroud Grand, I decided recently to make some adjustments to the leather nuts that determine the length of the brass push rods between the striker pneumatics and the keys, but they are so tight that even with pliers, I cannot turn the nuts on the threaded rods. Does anyone had any suggestions on how to loosen the nuts short of dropping the stack and taking it back to the bench?

I did drill and tap the nuts with a 5-32 tap before I put them on.
